Meta Platforms Inc., the social media company led by Mark Zuckerberg, has introduced a new functionality to WhatsApp that allows users to modify messages they have sent within a 15-minute timeframe.
In a blog post aimed at informing its users, the company announced the introduction of this feature. Mark Zuckerberg further confirmed this update on Facebook, emphasizing that users now have the ability to edit their sent messages on WhatsApp in situations where they have made an error or had a change of heart. Meta highlighted the added flexibility this feature brings to the messaging platform.
"We are thrilled to offer you greater control over your conversations, allowing you to rectify misspellings or provide additional context to your messages. This enhancement empowers users to have more precision and clarity in their chats."
According to Meta, to utilize this feature, users need to tap and hold the message they wish to modify within a 15-minute window after sending it, and then select the "Edit" option from the menu that appears. The company has started rolling out this functionality to users and expects it to be accessible to all within a few weeks.
