After attending the summit for 'A New Global Financing Pact' hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, France, President Bola Tinubu has now journeyed to London, United Kingdom.

Concluding his official trip to France on Friday, the President had a remarkable engagement at the summit, showcasing his outstanding participation.

Earlier, on June 19, the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Mr. Dele Alake, issued a statement stating that President Tinubu would depart Nigeria on June 20 to attend the Summit, which was scheduled to take place from June 22. The statement mentioned that President Tinubu was expected to return to Nigeria on Saturday, June 24.

However, in a subsequent statement released by the presidential spokesman on Saturday, it was clarified that President Tinubu, who was initially planned to be back in Abuja on Saturday, would now travel to London, United Kingdom, for a brief private visit before returning in time for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.

According to the statement, during the Summit, President Tinubu not only represented Nigeria effectively but also engaged in significant sideline meetings with other heads of state, global business leaders, and executives from prominent multilateral and development finance institutions worldwide.

The Summit provided President Tinubu with a global platform to advocate for expanding the fiscal space, promoting economic justice for Africa amid the rapid energy transition, and addressing the critical challenges of poverty and climate change.

It was reiterated in the statement that President Tinubu would now proceed to London for a short private visit, and he would be back in the country in time for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.
