To ensure a smooth celebration of Eid-el-Kabir in Kano state, the FRSC command has assigned a team of 1,280 personnel.

In a statement released in Kano on Saturday, the sector commander, Ibrahim Sallau-Abdullahi, disclosed the following information. In addition to the deployment of 1,280 personnel, the FRSC has allocated five ambulances, 25 patrol vehicles, one heavy-duty tow truck, and other necessary operational equipment.

These resources have been strategically positioned on major routes and highways to facilitate effective operations. The personnel team comprises 1,044 regular marshals and 236 special marshals, whose primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of vehicular movement and regulate traffic throughout the state. Furthermore, the personnel will promptly attend to individuals involved in road traffic accidents during the festive period.

The involvement of station officers in all 44 local government areas is integral to the operations, as stated. Continuous operations will be carried out by unit commands, ambulance service points, and roadside clinics positioned along the Kano to Zaria Road, ensuring the safety of both lives and properties throughout the day and night. Motorists are strongly advised by Mr. Sallau-Abdullahi to refrain from committing traffic offenses, including overloading, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, dangerous and improper overtaking, excessive speeding, failure to maintain lane discipline, route violation, underage driving, and using phones while driving.

The objective, as stated by the commander, is to facilitate uninterrupted traffic flow and guarantee the safety of lives and properties on highways not only during the celebration period but also afterward. The Eid-el-Kabir special patrol operations are scheduled to be in effect from June 26 to July 1.
