During the unveiling of the compendium titled "Many Voices, One Perspective" in Awka last Friday, Peter Obi, who is the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, asserted that Nigeria's difficulties could be overcome with proper leadership.

Peter Obi, the ex-governor of Anambra, restated his conviction that Nigeria must undergo a "deliberate, strategic, and vigorous shift from a consumption-based economy to a production-based one." He also expressed admiration for the United Arab Emirates, citing their use of modern technology to grow wheat in a desert region.

According to Peter Obi, the recent findings of the United Nations World Food Programme (WEP) were discouraging. The report indicated that Nigeria, particularly Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa, would face severe hunger this year.

Peter Obi commented that it was disheartening for a country like Nigeria, which has immense potential in food production, to receive such a report. He regretted that the leadership had not been able to leverage these potentials. Obi compared the combined land mass of Borno (70.9 sq km), Yobe (45.5 sq km), and Adamawa (36.5 sq km) which totals 152.9 sq km to that of Israel, which is just 22.1 sq km but is capable of producing enough food for its citizens and exporting the surplus to other countries. He affirmed that, with his commitment to good leadership, Nigeria could also perform excellently in agriculture.

Obi expressed trust in the Nigerian judiciary and confidently stated that he would become the President of Nigeria in due time.

Peter Obi expressed gratitude to his supporters for their confidence in him. He also urged them to consider his apologies to the elders as a manifestation of the African tradition of reverence for elders or parents, even if they are mistaken.

Peter Obi affirmed his unwavering commitment to the pursuit of a better Nigeria, regardless of the time it takes to achieve that goal. He stated, "I am not in transit to anywhere. In our journey to a New Nigeria, I am firmly dedicated to the cause."

At the event, Igwe Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, referred to Obi as a "Man of Destiny." He went on to commend Obi for his dedication to truth and due process, which distinguished him from other politicians. The monarch praised Obi for consistently upholding the values of honesty, integrity, and transparency.

Additionally, Senator Victor Umeh, the Senator-elect for Anambra Central Senatorial District, praised Obi's significant and positive impact on society, describing him as a great leader.

Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna, an accomplished Mass Communication expert and the lead editor of the book, characterized Obi as a man of diverse talents and capabilities. She expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their trust in Obi and highlighted that the launch of the book was another way to demonstrate support for his political aspirations to become Nigeria's president.

The event was attended by Igwe Innocent Obodoakor, the traditional ruler of Agulu, Obi's hometown, along with 25 other traditional rulers and several distinguished guests.
