Mr. Aondona Dajoh, the recently elected Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, has conveyed his deep astonishment and dissatisfaction regarding the significant deterioration observed within the State Assembly complex.

Expressing his lament, the Speaker voiced his concerns about the inhabitable and unsuitable conditions of the complex, which hinder the lawmakers from effectively fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities. In a statement released on Tuesday by his media aide, Agber Kulugh, the Speaker made these remarks following a guided tour of the complex conducted by the House's Clerk, Mr. Bernard Nule.

He urged immediate action to address the deteriorating state of the buildings, ensuring that necessary repairs are carried out promptly to create a habitable environment for both the staff and lawmakers.

Mr. Dajoh provided reassurance to the Assembly staff and his colleagues that he would collaborate with Governor Hyacinth Alia to promptly devise a solution for initiating repairs on the buildings.

He stated, "We will take immediate action to ensure that the necessary repair work is undertaken on the premises, rejuvenating the complex."

As per the statement, those present during the inspection alongside the Speaker included his Deputy, Mrs. Lami Danladi.

In attendance were also Peter Ipusu, the Representative of Katsina Ala West, Berger Alfred, the Representative of Makurdi North, Shimawua Terna, the Representative of Kyan State Constituency, Thomas Dugeri, the Representative of Kwande-West, and Matthew Damkor, the Representative of Tiev Constituency.
