Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, expressed that it would be highly unusual for him to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Obi's spokesperson, Tai Obasi, further clarified that there are no intentions to organize a protest prior to today's inauguration of the incoming President.

The response follows speculations that the ex-governor of Anambra State, along with his Obidient movement, would organize a protest near Eagle Square to express their dissatisfaction with the Federal Government's decision to proceed with the inauguration of the President-elect. Obasi stated, "I am unaware of the source of that report. We have no knowledge or involvement in any proposed protest. I can confidently confirm that my principal is not informed about any such activity."

The person in question is Obi, and his followers are referred to as Obidient. While I agree that there may be instances when they act independently, despite being advised to remain calm, these individuals are frustrated. They are dissatisfied with the perceived manipulation against Obi, who had instilled great hope in them. They have faithfully followed him and supported him throughout.

Regarding whether Obi will attend Tinubu's inauguration, considering reports of political parties and their presidential candidates receiving individual invitations, Obi's aide responded, "My principal is a humble and rational individual who consistently seeks peace and national unity, regardless of the circumstances. However, it would be highly unusual for him to attend an event where he challenges the election victory of the person being inaugurated in court."

My principal would not engage in behavior that is perceived as strange or unreasonable. While I cannot confirm whether he has received an invitation to the swearing-in ceremony, I can assure you that you will not find him in attendance.
