IPOB alleges that individuals dressed in Nigerian security uniforms, whom they describe as terrorists, are carrying out attacks in the South-East region. According to IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful, these assailants are burning houses, cars, and other belongings under the pretense of searching for IPOB members.

IPOB has reported that the attackers are apprehending and extorting residents in the region, with dire consequences for those unable to pay. The statement emphasized that IPOB, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, warns the Nigerian Police, DSS, and Army against destroying people's properties in their alleged search for IPOB members. It also mentioned that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is currently detained in DSS solitary confinement.

The presence of Nigerian security agencies in Biafra territory appears to involve individuals who are not conventional professional security agents but rather terrorists who have been enlisted into Nigeria's security services with the intent to terrorize Biafrans.

The individuals labeled as "repentant terrorists" have been recruited and dispatched to Biafra land with the aim of causing harm to our community and its people. Among their activities is the theft of vehicles belonging to innocent Biafrans.

These terrorists, wearing Nigerian security uniforms, have been indoctrinated to foster hatred towards Ndigbo and have imposed a state of siege on Alaigbo, as stated. They have a tendency to label their political opponents and affluent Igbo individuals as sponsors of IPOB. Even innocent Igbo youths are not exempt from their actions. They engage in arbitrary abductions, branding the victims as IPOB members, and demanding exorbitant sums of money, ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of Naira, for their release. Failure to comply can result in imprisonment, extrajudicial killings, or even worse outcomes.

The group further expressed its demand, stating, "Consequently, we urge the Nigerian government to release our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, immediately and without any conditions, as his detention in the DSS facility is unlawful. We also call for the scheduling of a Biafra referendum at the earliest opportunity."
