Hilda Baci, a 27-year-old Nigerian chef, is poised to surpass the Guinness World Record for "longest cooking time" achieved by an individual. She has already been cooking for 66 hours and still has about 29 hours to go to break the record.
On April 2nd, Hilda shared on Instagram her plan to turn her five-year-long aspiration into reality. She revealed that she aimed to cook continuously for four days and four nights, aiming to surpass the previous Guinness World Record of 87 hours and 45 minutes held by Chef Lata London in Rewa, India, in 2019.
Originally planned to commence on April 28th, the event had to be rescheduled to May 11th due to an increase in the number of attendees who registered and to accommodate their needs and preferences. The venue remained at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos.
In response to a tweet from Guinness World Records that read "today is a good day to break a world record," Hilda replied on Sunday with "I'm on it." As she continues to make history, numerous celebrities, food bloggers, and private individuals have shown their support for her.
