After being subjected to the horrific assault, the victim was reportedly stripped naked by her attackers. A source within the town revealed, "This is not the first time we've witnessed such a dreadful incident. Several women have been raped in their farms by these hoodlums suspected to be herdsmen."

The constant threat of such attacks has caused women to refrain from going to their farms alone for an extended period.

In the meantime, a suspect named Sunday, identified as a palm wine tapper, has been apprehended according to information from a police source.

It is reported that the suspect was apprehended by local youths, who discovered the victim's phone in his possession.

The police source stated that the suspect later led the youths to the location where the victim's lifeless body was discovered, alleging that she was murdered by some herdsmen.

The state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the arrest of the suspect and characterized the incident as a case of rape and murder.

Odunlami further mentioned that following the interrogation, the state police command would soon present the suspect for a public display and subsequently proceed with filing charges against him in court.
