According to Mr. Temitope Fashedemi, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power, the Federal Government is taking active measures to enhance, stabilize, and maintain power supply.

This statement was made during a visit to the ministry by Ms. Olu Verheijen, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Energy, as announced by Ms. Chinwe Udouwem, the ministry's spokesperson in Abuja on Thursday.

Fashedemi expressed optimism that the technical directors and heads of agencies under the ministry would provide insights into the challenges facing the sector as they brief Ms. Olu Verheijen on ongoing or completed projects.

In her statement, Verheijen emphasized the significance of the power sector in the growth and productivity of nations. She acknowledged that the reforms implemented in the power sector over time would yield the desired positive outcomes. She emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in the power sector and the adoption of a comprehensive approach to achieve a sustainable solution.

Verheijen highlighted the necessity of establishing a conducive environment that facilitates the growth of the private sector and enables the attainment of affordable electricity tariffs for households, who are the primary consumers of electricity.

Previously, the technical directors and heads of agencies within the ministry had the opportunity to address the challenges and outline future plans to transform the power sector into an esteemed and exemplary one.
