According to Arsenal's manager Mikel Arteta, his team remains "mathematically" in contention for the Premier League title and he emphasized that anything can happen in football. Arsenal had been leading the league for a significant portion of the season, with hopes of ending a 19-year drought for the title.

In the face of continuous pressure from City, who have achieved 11 successive victories in the league, Arsenal has struggled in recent months, resulting in a decline in their performance. Over the last seven games, Arteta's team has only managed to secure two wins.

Arteta informed Sky Sports that his team needs to apologize for their unacceptable performance in the second half.

Arteta acknowledged that, mathematically, Arsenal still has a chance of winning the league, but given their recent poor performance, it is not a realistic possibility. Instead, the team needs to focus on understanding their shortcomings and reacting differently in the next game. If Arsenal loses against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, City will secure the title for the fifth time in six seasons and the third time in a row. Even if Arsenal manages to win at Forest, City will still clinch the title if they win against Chelsea on May 21 or secure three points in their upcoming matches against Brighton and Brentford.

In the latter part of the game, Deniz Undav and Pervis Estupinan scored for Brighton, compounding Arsenal's misery and putting the former in a strong position to qualify for Europe for the first time in their history. Arteta stated that the team was unable to respond after conceding a goal and that their performance was unsatisfactory. He further added that the team needs to address the issue that led to the collapse after conceding the second goal. Arsenal's captain, Martin Odegaard, acknowledged that the title race is practically over.

According to the Norwegian captain, Martin Odegaard, it certainly feels like the title race is over for Arsenal. He admitted that the situation is challenging, and the team is finding it tough to accept. Odegaard expressed disappointment with the team's performance, particularly in the second half, and stated that it feels like there is no hope left. Nonetheless, despite their late setback, Odegaard emphasized that his younger teammates were mentally tough enough to handle the pressure of the title race. The team had aimed to continue their momentum from the previous two games and secure a positive outcome, but the outcome was a major letdown.

The mentality of the team was not a problem, according to the speaker. They entered the game in good spirits, but things took a turn for the worse during the match. The team must acknowledge the outcome and extract lessons from it.
