A 56-year-old former boxer and truck driver, Moses Olapade, has been arrested by operatives of the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly punching his wife to the point of causing her to go into a coma. The incident reportedly occurred at their home on Odamo Street, Oke-Aro Community in Akure South Local Council of Ondo State. It was gathered that Olapade asked his 44-year-old wife, Atinuke Olapade, to give him the TV remote control, but she refused, and he subsequently attacked her.
After the children ran out screaming for help, the woman's husband had to be stopped by their neighbours who intervened to rescue her. She was found lying unconscious on the floor and was promptly taken to the nearest hospital by the neighbours. Community leaders were informed of the incident and subsequently involved the Nigerian Police Force, who arrested the perpetrator.
