Mrs. Okechi, the widow who was flogged by her community members after she was alleged of being a witch by her husband's brother's wife have been taken to the hospital.

Recurring, the poor widow was brought out in public where members of the community unleashed their anger on her with canes and sticks. Her daughter who stays in Lagos heard the sad story and rushed down home to Abia state.

In an emotional video trending online, the daughter was seen in tears while embracing her mother who wept bitterly while showing her daughter her body.

The case was taken up by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu.

Harrison appreciated the Abia state Governor's wife  for helping to ensure those involve in the brutality of the poor widow would be brought to justice.

As at the time of this report, the perpetrators are yet to be found.
