The Delta State Police in Ovwian/Aladja Division in Udu Local Government  has arrest a young man identified as Samuel after teenage friend died of drug overdose in his house.

Samuel's teenage friend died from overdosed intake of tramadol in his apartment. 

 According to information gathered, the teenager died at about 2.00 pm on Thursday, April, 7, 2023,  in Samuel’s apartment located at Okuku Street in Ovwian town. 

A resident of the area, who is called Jane, told Punch that the deceased, who was known as ‘Bros,’ was seen on that Thursday taking the drug with the culprit.

According to Jane, after the duo had taken the drug, Samuel went to play football in a nearby field but on getting home not long after, he met his friend lying unconscious in his apartment.

He raised alarm but unfortunately, the victim was later confirmed dead by a nurse in the neighbourhood.

The suspect is still being kept in custody at the Ovwian Police Station.

The Spokesperson of the Police command,  DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, adding that the parents of the deceased are not ready to help the police with information.
