L’Equipe, a French newspaper, has reported that Paris Saint-Germain has shown interest in adding Folarin Balogun, an on-loan Reims striker, to their summer shortlist. This follows the player's impressive campaign in the French Ligue 1 this season, where he established himself as the top striker for his team since joining Stade de Reims in the summer of 2022. Balogun, who is of Nigerian descent, has had a remarkable season, scoring 18 goals in 31 league appearances for the Red and Whites. His loan deal will end at the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.

Having scored 18 goals in Ligue 1 this season, the ex-Middlesbrough forward is currently the fourth top scorer in the league, just two goals behind Kylian Mbappe, the star player of PSG and France, who has scored 22 goals. PSG is currently in search of a forward who can fill the void left by Lionel Messi, whose contract with the French club will expire in June 2023, and who is reportedly linked with a return to Barcelona in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In light of the situations involving Mbappe, Neymar, and Messi, PSG is actively seeking to bolster their attacking options. To this end, they have reportedly set their sights on Folarin Balogun, a 21-year-old striker who is currently on loan from Arsenal at Stade Reims. Balogun has been in sensational form this season, scoring 18 goals and providing 3 assists. His market value is estimated to be around 30 million euros.

Despite having two years left on his contract with Arsenal, the young striker is reportedly unwilling to return to Emirates Stadium next season unless he is given a guaranteed first-team role, which Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has not yet promised him. As a result, Arsenal is expecting to receive a fee of over €30m for Balogun should he be sold.
