Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has recently received a group of 108 Nigerian individuals who were stranded in Tripoli, Libya.

A group of individuals, known as the returnees, have been assisted in their repatriation to Nigeria through a special intervention by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). They arrived at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, on board Al Buraq Air's Boeing 737-800 with the registration number 5A-DMG.

The returnees consist of 46 adult females, 2 female children, and 1 female infant who were brought back. Additionally, there were 52 adult males, 4 male children, and 4 male infants among the returnees.

Upon the arrival of the voluntarily assisted returnees in the country, Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Office Coordinator, represented the Director General of the Agency, Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed. In his address, Farinloye highlighted the new administration's commitment to addressing the country's challenges and implementing measures aimed at fostering positive development in the national economy.

Alhaji Habib-Ahmed further emphasized that the President has made a commitment to ensure that the administration does not neglect the youth in governing the nation. The President recognizes the significance of harnessing the energy and technological skills possessed by the youth, as they play a crucial role in driving progress in any society.

He added, "The President will formulate a policy that promotes active participation of youths and women in the implementation of all policies."

Expanding on his statement, Habib-Ahmed highlighted, "The youth will serve as the driving force behind all decisions in the current administration, given the immense value that the leadership of our nation has placed on harnessing the potential within this significant population segment." The Director General expressed his enthusiasm while welcoming the returnees back to the country.

He urged the returnees to seize the opportunity of their return to become ambassadors of positive news to other youths who may still be contemplating traveling abroad.

The bountiful green pastures have arrived, and it is now our responsibility to nurture them until they reach full maturity, ensuring that the benefits endure indefinitely.

Among the agencies present to welcome the returnees upon their arrival were the National Commission for Refugees, Migration and Internally Displaced Persons, the Federal Ministry of Health, Port Health, the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, and the Nigeria Police.
