On Wednesday, A group of the Labor Party led by it former Deputy National Chairman Callistus  Okafor, voted Chief Digar Ezenwafor as their Presidential candidate for the 2023 general election.

Zigar, who is the immediate past Senior Special Assistant to Ex-Governor Willy Obiano of Anambra state, emerged the in group candidate at the national convention held in Garki area of Abuja.

According to  Digar Ezenwafor, he had worked as an inner circle presidential candidate of the party, while Peter Obi was his Chief of Protocol during his first term as the governor of Anambra state.

Callistus Okafor, led the convention in his capacity as the party's acting national chairman. 

Digar Ezenwafor explained to the party that he is on a rescue mission in Nigeria.

Digar's words, "I am on a rescue mission to free Nigerias from social, economic and political crises currently bedeviling it."

According to him, he has what it takes to elevate the country from poverty. 

Okafor, the acting president of the party said his action has nothing against Peter Obi who have been presented by the other in group of the party, he clearly stated that, his decision  was for fairness and equity
