Hilda Effiong Bassey, who goes by the name Hilda Baci, has set a new Guinness World Record for the "longest individual cooking marathon" by cooking continuously for more than 87 hours and 45 minutes. The Nigerian chef broke the previous record set by Lata Tandon. This feat was accomplished by Hilda on Monday morning.

Hilda began the cooking competition precisely at 4 pm on Thursday by turning on her cooker. Even after breaking the previous record, the chef persisted in her endeavor to cook for 96 hours, aspiring to set a new world record as the first person to cook for such an extended period.

Hilda has been receiving an outpouring of encouragement from various well-wishers in Nigeria, including politicians, celebrities, religious leaders, and other individuals who wish her success in her endeavor.

Despite a heavy rainfall in the early hours of Monday, Nigerians remained supportive of Hilda as she continued her cooking marathon. Hilda had announced on her Instagram page on April 2nd that she would fulfill her five-year-long dream by cooking for four days and four nights to break the previous record set by Tandon in India in 2019. The Guinness World Record is yet to confirm Hilda's recent achievement, as they have stated that they will need to review the evidence first.
