Nigeria's First Lady, Aisha Buhari has thrown her weight behind the public execution of Abdulmalik Muhammad Tanko, a school proprietor, who kidnapped and murdered his pupil, Hanifa Abubakar. The First Lady took to her verified Instagram page on Monday, January 24, to express support for the demand that Tanko be killed the same way he took Hanifa's life.

Aisha made this known in reaction to a video credited to Kano-based Islamic cleric, Mallam Abdalla Gadon Kaya, who called for Tanko's public execution.

The president's wife who reposted the video captioned the clip "We are behind mallam's stance". 

Gadon Kaya in the viral video had charged President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state to have Tanko killed the same way as Hanifa.
