According to reports, the injured officer has been swiftly transported to the emergency center located at the toll gate along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for immediate medical attention. Concurrently, upon the outbreak of the fire at the police station, authorities promptly contacted and deployed personnel from the Lagos State Fire Service to the site in order to mitigate the situation.

Although the fire at the police post has been extinguished, a section of the building was unfortunately impacted. It is worth noting that despite the incident, no weapons were reported stolen.

The incident has been verified by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin. He confirmed that an investigation has been initiated, noting that no suspects have been apprehended thus far.

In a separate development, two individuals suspected to be affiliated with the Yoruba Nation movement were apprehended while attempting to seize control of the Alausa Police Station in Ikeja on Sunday.

Approximately 15 demonstrators, identified as agitators, entered the premises and proceeded to capture footage of the police station using their mobile phones. Simultaneously, they chanted slogans such as "No more Nigeria police again" and "Yoruba Nation has taken over in Yoruba land."

In an attempt to disperse the protesters, certain police officers stationed there were subjected to attacks.

According to Hundeyin, the police quickly sent additional personnel to the location, and two of the individuals causing unrest were apprehended, while the rest managed to flee.
