During the fifth edition of the UBA Africa Conversations, Elumelu highlighted the significant role of the bank in catalyzing favorable transformations throughout the continent. He emphasized the bank's unwavering dedication to unleashing the immense potential of Africa. Furthermore, the bank restated its steadfast commitment to advancing gender equality.

Oliver Alawuba, the Group Managing Director of UBA, underscored the bank's commitment to providing assistance and support.

In his remarks on the theme, 'Innovation on the Continent for Growth,' he expressed that Africa has the potential to become the continent of the future, while also acknowledging and celebrating Africa's vibrant culture, talent, and diversity.

Regarding the theme, he stated, "It is highly relevant to our discussion as it reflects the challenges and opportunities that Africa, as a continent, encounters. However, it is crucial to recognize that between these challenges and opportunities lies a fine line, which we firmly believe the UBA Group can navigate to unlock the challenges and drive prosperity."

Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of UBA Africa, Abiola Bawuah, expressed the bank's dedication to advancing gender equality. Bawuah emphasized that UBA has a higher number of female board members compared to any other bank, attributing this achievement to the Chairman of the board, Tony Elumelu. Elumelu strongly believes in women's capacity to hold top leadership positions and succeed. This significant accomplishment is noteworthy and has inspired other organizations to follow suit.
