The Elders of Itsekiri on 29th of May, Wednesday, stormed the Ajayi Crowther university in Oyo state, to demand for the body of their son, Alex Timileyin, who was allegedly beaten to death by his schoolmates.

 The Elders who were led by an Uncle of the deceased, Prince Yemi Emiko, visited the hostel where the late Prince was allegedly beaten to death and also had a meeting with the school management. 

After the meeting with the school management, the Itsekiri leaders also visited the morgue where the body of the deceased was said to have been kept. 

Laju Dennis Mukoro, one of the men in the delegation, said the deceased was kept in a morgue that wasn’t functional and that it was only the body of the Prince that was in the morgue.

 Otuedon further mentioned that the body of the deceased has swollen up and that different marks of violence could be seen on it. 

 However, the state police command is yet to comment on the incident.

 As report would have it, the late Timileyin was beaten to his death in his hostel known as Shepherd Inn on the school premises on Saturday, May 25, 2024. A video sighted that has gone viral showed the deceased rolling on the floor while other students were beating him with sticks. 

The school authority have since expelled the indicted students and handed them over to the police.
