Later today, May 3rd, President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to travel to London, United Kingdom to participate in the coronation ceremony of Charles III and his wife Camilla, who will be crowned as the King and Queen Consort of the United Kingdom respectively. According to a statement from Chief Femi Adesina, the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 6th.
In anticipation of the coronation, the Commonwealth Secretariat will use the opportunity of leaders being gathered in London to host a Commonwealth Summit on Friday, May 5th, for Presidents and Heads of Government from Commonwealth nations.
President Buhari is scheduled to take part in the upcoming Summit, which will focus on the Future of the Commonwealth and the Role of the Youth. The President will be accompanied by several high-ranking government officials, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj.-Gen Babagana Monguno (Rtd), the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Chairperson/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and other senior government officials.
