Consumers in the franchise area of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) have been warned of a possible blackout starting next month as a result of outstanding bills.

The IBEDC, a company that distributes electricity, has cited inadequate payments as the reason for considering the disconnection of its feeders from the national grid.

The impact of this situation will be felt by customers residing in Kwara, Ogun, Osun, Ibadan, Oyo, and some areas in Kogi, Ekiti, and Niger states.

According to a statement signed by the Managing Director of IBEDC, Kingsley Achife, and released to journalists in Ilorin, the action could potentially lead to power disruptions for consumers residing in the IBEDC franchise areas. The statement further explains that IBEDC operates as a sales and distribution channel for electricity produced by power generation companies.
