Mr. Samson Omogbehin, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic in Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, has cautioned fresh students of the institution against engaging in societal misconduct or facing expulsion from the school. In light of this, he emphasized that the polytechnic had a strict policy against all forms of misconduct.

This was stated during the seventh matriculation ceremony for National Diploma students and the second matriculation for Higher National Diploma students at the institution. He further explained that the school's manuals, given to the students, were meant to enlighten them on the rules and regulations of the institution.

In his speech to the students, Omogbehin emphasized the importance of upholding the good reputation of the institution. He urged the matriculating students to always keep in mind that the Federal Polytechnic in Ile-Oluji had a strict policy against all forms of indiscipline, including disobedience to school rules and regulations, truancy, drug use and abuse, examination malpractice, cultism, and other societal vices. These behaviors would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

"Violators of the aforementioned societal vices will face disciplinary actions in accordance with the regulations stipulated in the student handbook and other applicable laws," warned the head of the Federal Polytechnic. Additionally, he highlighted that the institution had successfully trained individuals in technical and managerial skills through high-quality educational programs, resulting in a well-equipped workforce in the fields of technology, innovation, and management for national development.

Omogbehin asserted that in the current society, opting for technical and vocational education is crucial since it fosters the self-sufficiency necessary to combat the issue of unemployment that has plagued our country.
