Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Chairman of the South East Governors' Forum has stepped in to address the current standoff between the Igbo and Yoruba communities in Lagos State.

During his recent trip to Lagos, which included his participation in the Nigeria Governors' Forum meeting and President Tinubu's homecoming event, Governor Uzodimma made a point of connecting with the Igbo business community in the state.

Governor Uzodimma demonstrated empathy and a keen understanding as he attentively listened to the concerns and frustrations expressed by the Igbo business community.

He acknowledged the detrimental effects these issues have had on their businesses and living conditions in Lagos, and also acknowledged the prevailing security challenges faced by both communities.

After carefully hearing their concerns and frustrations, Governor Uzodimma motivated the Igbo business community to lend their support to the developmental strategies being devised by the South East Governors' Forum (SEGF).

He specifically highlighted the forthcoming South East Security Summit, organized by the SEGF, as a crucial initiative aimed at tackling the security challenges in the region and restoring a sense of normalcy.

Governor Uzodimma also made an appeal for the support of the Igbo business community in backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

Additionally, he made a personal commitment to intervene and address any unresolved issues between the Igbo and Yoruba communities in Lagos, scheduling a meeting with his Lagos State counterpart today before concluding his visit.

Governor Uzodimma's intervention serves as a testament to his leadership qualities and genuine concern for the well-being of the Igbo community in Lagos State.
