Professor Mansur Ibrahim leads lawyers to defend the suspected brutal killers of Deborah Samuel

 

The suspects were arraigned in court due to the brutal killing of Deborah, who was a student of Shehu Shagari college before she was killed

 

Deborah Samuel was stoned to death and burnt by her fellow student over alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad on a WhatsApp group

 

The suspects identified as Bilyaminu Aliya and Aminu Hukunci were brought before the Sokoto Chief Magistrates' Court for their crime

 

The suspects were pleaded not guilty over the brutal murder of the deceased 

 

Police prosecutor Inspector Khalil Musa told the court that an investigation was in progress on the matter. He asked for another date to allow the police conclude their investigation 

 

Prof. Ibrahim after the presentation requested for the bail of his client on liberal ground

 

The court thereafter adjourned to a later day which will be communicated to the lawyers

 

The 24-hour curfew was relaxed in Sokoto State 

 

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal states the curfew have been revised from dusk to dawn in sokoto by Commissioner Isah Bajini Galadanci

 

Tuned Bakare, the overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, formerly known as the Latter Rain Assembly, also condemned the killing of Deborah in his statement he said

 

" As a former Muslim I have read the Quran from cover to cover and nowhere in the holy book justified killing" Bakere said

 

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have said they will petition international organizations to call the government to order and to be more serious in dealing with religious violence in Nigeria 

 

During a chat with Arise TV yesterday Samson Ayokunle, the President of CAN said the government have not been able to take a decisive action on the cases of the religious violence and the entire world needs to hear 

 

Chibuzor Chinyere, the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries have offered automatic scholarships to the seven siblings of Deborah

 

Aileri Emmanuel, the mother of the deceased said she will never send any of her children to school again after the brutal killing of her daughter 

 

Garba, the deceased father who is a security guard with the Niger state Water and Sanitation lamented he used all his life savings to send her eldest child Deborah to school 

 

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries also promised to provide a job for the parents of the deceased and also a better life, this news came on Facebook yesterday and the reactions were commendable
