As per the announcement made by the Federal Government, they have made substantial progress in their preparations for a smooth and well-organized transition on May 29, which is expected to take place without any disruption.

In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja and signed by Mr. Willie Bassey, the Director of Information in his office, Mr. Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Transition Council, revealed that significant progress had been made towards a peaceful handover. Additionally, a circulating program of events for the Presidential Inauguration was described as fraudulent.

According to the statement, the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) has repudiated the bogus schedule of activities for the Presidential Inauguration that is currently being circulated on social media.

The Chairman of the PTC announced that the committee responsible for the Presidential Inauguration has made considerable progress in its preparations for a smooth and well-coordinated handover of power on May 29, 2023. He also mentioned that several sanctioned activities are set to take place during the week commencing Monday, May 22, 2023. Additionally, he revealed that the official schedule of events will be revealed during a World Press Conference scheduled for Thursday, May 18, 2023.

The Chairman admonished those who spread fake news to immediately stop spreading false information in an effort to deceive and mislead the general public.
