Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice who were charged to court for Organ harvesting in the UK court have presented the letter he wrote to the British High commission about a kidney donation to his daughter.

Recently, the photos of Eweremadu in UK court where he was charged for bringing a child to the UK for organ harvesting was shared online.

According to report earlier, Ekweremadu and his wife were arrested over the crime of organ harvesting.

The metropolitan police in a statement stated that, the couple were charged to court on Thursday, June 23, following an investigation by the police specialist crime team. 

The police also mentioned that the investigation was carried out after detectives were alerted to potential offenses under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.

Not too long after the arraignment, Ekweremadu wrote a letter to the British high commission about a kidney donation for his daughter.

Ekweremadu letter stated he was writing in support of a visa applicant who was scheduled for "medical investigation for a kidney donation to Ms Sonia Ekweremadu".

According to his letter, it stated that his daughter Sonia and the donor "will be at the Royal Free Hospital London", adding that he would "be providing the necessary funding"
