The Federal Government has taken a legal action against Peter Nwachukwu, for the death of his wife who died on April 8 after alleged suffering from domestic violence 

According to the charges against Peter Nwachukwu, he was charged with section 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015. 

Regarding the death of Osinachi the gospel singer, the husband Peter Nwachukwu was arrested and an autopsy was carried out at the National hospital in Abuja. The result revealed she was killed through domestic violence 

Peter Nwachukwu there after was taken to the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja for blamable homicide, contrary to section 221 of the Penal Code, which is punishable by death

 

Another case was filed against Peter Nwachukwu by Mrs. Yewande Gbola-Awopetun the head of Sexual and Gender-Based violence, Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Ministry of Justice

 

Federal Government however has declared that the accused denied the deceased of her personal liberty by restraining her movement and locking her up in the house. In addition, the suspect was accused of subjecting the deceased to emotional, verbal and mental abuse contrary to section 14 (1) of the VAP Act, 2015.

Federal Government revealed this to the court that Peter Nwachukwu denied Osinachi access to her money for medication and household necessities, resulting her into begging and borrowing to live on.
