Yesterday, the discovery of Dons Ude's lifeless body at the 9th Mile corner in Udi Council of Enugu State cast a pall of sorrow over the area, as the former APGA gubernatorial aspirant's demise spread.

Enugu State was shrouded in sorrow yesterday, following the discovery of Dons Ude's lifeless body at the 9th Mile corner in Udi Council. Ude, who had run for governorship under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the recent elections, had been missing since the previous Saturday. His Toyota Hilux van, which he had driven on the day of his abduction, was also found. According to a family source, the former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state was badly injured and was discovered by passers-by, who immediately alerted the authorities. The police have not issued an official statement yet, but reports indicate that concerns were raised about Ude's possible abduction last Saturday after he failed to answer phone calls.

According to the source, the Ogui Road Police Station discovered his mobile phone, which had raised concerns that he might have faced some trouble. His wife, who had attempted to contact him multiple times, was informed that the phone had been found. She went to the station to report her husband's disappearance and her failed attempts to reach him. Nonetheless, the source expressed uncertainty regarding whether or not he had been abducted, but they suspected foul play since his location was unknown.

Following his unsuccessful bid for governorship under APGA, Ude rejoined the PDP and contributed to their election efforts.

At the time of writing, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the spokesperson for the state Police Command, was unavailable to answer calls to his mobile phone.
