Etinosa Idemudia, a popular Nollywood actress, has shared her experience of resorting to illicit substances in order to protect herself from the abuses inflicted by her former spouse. In her revelation, the actress expressed that her young age of 22 at the time of marriage made her naive, as her husband claimed authority over her.

Etinosa Idemudia, the actress, opened up about this during a conversation with renowned media personality, Chude Jideonwo.

Etinosa shared her experience of intense fear whenever her husband returned home. She recalled how she resorted to using drugs as a coping mechanism. According to her, instead of feeling joyous like a typical wife, she would become stiff and medicated in order to maintain a sense of peace, regardless of her husband's words or actions.

Etinosa, who hails from Edo State, revealed that she eventually ended her marriage despite her continuous prayers and fasting failing to bring about any positive change in her husband. Reflecting on her past, she admitted her naivety, emphasizing her lack of knowledge and understanding. She got married at the young age of 22 and recalled how her ex-husband declared himself not as her friend but as her superior, stating, "I'm not your friend, I'm your lord."
