The Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Fellowship Ministry has distributed food to poor Muslims and orphans in celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
As reported, the church also distributed cash as a means of celebrating “Barka da Sallah” with the Muslims. The cash was for the children to promote a good relationship between Christians and Muslims in Kaduna state.
During the distribution of the items, Yohanna Buru, general overseer of the church, said it is idea to help the poor Muslims celebrate the season with joy.
He further said it is the practice of the church to distribute food to about 600 – 700 people every year but it was increased this time due to the rise in the number of people at the various distribution areas.
The specific people who benefited are the street beggars, widows, orphans.
Pastor Buru said most of the beneficiaries were street beggars, widows, orphans and some internally disabled persons.
The Good hearted man of God added that the exercise , has lasted for the past 11 years, and is a means to promoting religious tolerance, inter-religious dialogue for peace and unity in the Kaduna State as well as promoting peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians.
He encouraged wealthy Muslims and Christians around the country to help the needy, widows and orphans to reduce their sufferings, noting that “we are all brothers and sisters and must support each other to live in peace and harmony”.
