Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, a clergyman based in Port Harcourt, has broken his silence following the public call-out by the former security guards known as Happie Boys. The viral duo, Matthew Precious Kelechi and Amakor Johnson, accused the philanthropist of terminating their fully funded scholarship and allegedly leaving them without support in Cyprus.
In response to the situation, Apostle Chibuzor took to his Facebook page to address the matter. He disclosed that he had temporarily suspended the funding of their scholarship due to the significant rise in the dollar exchange rate. The clergyman explained that the financial strain became overwhelming for him, especially considering that he is responsible for more than 4,000 individuals enrolled in his scholarship programs.
Apostle Chibuzor clarified that the suspension of the scholarship didn't solely impact the Happie Boys but also other students. He emphasized that he had personally communicated the situation to the parents of the affected students. As an alternative, he provided them with the option of allowing their children to pursue their studies at any university in Nigeria or Benin Republic.
Nevertheless, the clergyman emphasized that despite the way the Happie Boys handled the matter, he has chosen to forgive them. He further conveyed his willingness to reinstate their scholarship at any university in Nigeria or Benin Republic.
Additionally, Apostle Chibuzor disclosed that the required preparations are underway to facilitate their return to Nigeria.
